TATTOO AFTERCARE
Caring For Your Tattoo
properly is just as important as the application process. If you have further questions about healing please reach out to your artist.
Please see our recommendations below.
1. Keep the bandage on for 2-4 hours.
2. After removing the bandage with clean hands (do not do this in a public place)
3. Wash with warm water and mild soap 3 times a day for the next 7 days.
4. Apply a very thin amount of Aquaphor or aftercare ointment when you tattoo feels tight or dry. Avoid putting it on too heavy or you can lose color and definition.
5. After a few days it’s normal for the skin on the tattoo to have a cloudy appearance, followed by peeling like a sunburn.
6. NEVER pick at your tattoo. Any loose skin will work itself off without any help from you.
7. Do not use alcohol to clean your tattoo.
8. Do not let your tattoo dry out- it should feel a little tight when it’s ready for ointment.
9. Do not expose the tattoo directly to the sun for two weeks and make sure to use sunblock to prevent fading while in the sun after that.
10. Do not soak your tattoo in the bathtub, steam room, or sauna for two weeks. (Yes, you can shower still)
11. Avoid working out in the gym or activities when you will sweat.
12. Avoid pets and pet hair, gym equipment, and any other potentially unclean surfaces while your tattoo heals.
13. Please use ointment suggested by your artist. Different artists recommend different products.
